Richard Diebenkorn 1922 - 1993
His masterly execution of various media, i.e painting both in abstractions and in figurative modes, through heroic-sized paintings to small paintings, drawings and etchings, are remarkable in their originality and integrity. He moved from the figurative to
abstraction with seeming facility. More importantly, I believe he drew
upon a great reserve of inner strength to always follow his instincts.
With or against the prevailing tide of opinion, he followed his own
course throughout. - C Coalson - For Richard Diebkorn's Biography
